Our Christmas Letter
Greetings to all people checking their e-mails! And good will toward ladies and men (and especially ladies!) We have had quite a year. And that year is the subject of this particular letter. First of all, we’d like to thank you all for your gracious support. Finally, however, we are about to be standing on our own legs. Anyway, we’d like to tell you about the best parts of the year. First of all, we have had a bumper crop of kittens! Yes. Kittens. Even as I write this, kittens are thriving in our neighborhood. Since I like cats so much, this has been a particularly exciting year for me especially. Here’s a sample of said cats: Huey, Ponyo, Osy, Stabby, Chiquita, Volvo, Soot, Dribble, PM, DM, MM.
Speaking of babies, I haven’t talked about Asa any. Anyway, he’s my new 2nd cousin that must be very patient and tolerant. You’d have to be to sleep with the “crack of many guns”. His older brother Jaxon is like a collector of toy guns and does not hesitate to disturb any choice person , in this case Asa. Asa doesn’t look anything like Jaxon. Their faces are nearly opposites. Asa inspired me to start designing baby and toddler toys. So I did. And when I did, I came up with a whole toy company. Its name is Wibble. I know that’s a weird name, but I think it fits with a company that makes kid toys. So far, I have twenty products. Now I’ll let Mom write.
OK, this is Mom. I think I will not look back on the year except to say that you, our friends and family, have helped us through our most challenging times. THANK YOU! I am SO GRATEFUL to be eating and walking and playing and working. If ever I understood the phrase “grace period,” it is now. The three of us have been having a wonderful time the last couple of weeks (see pictures with this update on the blog), now that medical tests (including Charlie’s nursing final) are over for the year.
Some good things have come out of this challenging year: Charlie finding a new career path, Shayley’s first book, our first blog, more time with family and friends, and finally, a feeling of life as better-than-normal.
I know that so many of you are still in the midst of your own challenges, hurts, and losses. I truly wish I could help you all as you have helped us. Just know that I hold you all in thoughts and prayers. May you feel peace and hope in this Christmas season.
Now back to Shayley . . .
Greetings again. And I’d like to repeat Mom’s comments above to you from me. I hope you all have a great Christmas and a happy New Year. Maybe a happier year is coming.
With Love,
Shayley, Lydeana and Charlie
